TRAINING KNIVES

IMPORTANCE OF TRAINING BLADES

For individuals who carry a knife for personal defense, it is essential to have a training blade the closely replicates the characteristics of their live blade. The training blade should be identical in size, weight, shape, and carry method to the actual blade. The precise match ensures that users can safely practice or "spar" with a partner, developing the necessary skills and muscle memory without risking injury.

TRAINING KNIFE DESIGN

For each knife I produce, there is an available option for a matching training blade. These training blades are constructed from the same 80CRV2 steel as the live blades, ensuring durability and a consistent feel during training. To closely replicate the weight and balance of the live blade, lightening holes are carefully drilled into the blade of the trainer. These holes not only adjust the weight to mirror the live version but also serve as a visual identifier. Additionally, every training blade is equipped with a red handle, a feature exclusively designated for trainers. This red handle clearly distinguishes the training blade from the live blade, which should never feature a red handle. The combination of the red handle and the driller lightening holes provide a reliable way to immediately recognize a training blade and prevent any confusion with live blades.

 SHEATH OPTIONS and CARRY METHODS

For optimal training, it is critical that the sheath used for the training blade is identical to the sheath and carry method of the live blade intended for everyday carry (EDC). By ensuring this match, you develop consistent muscle memory, allowing you to deploy your blade efficiently and instinctively, even in high-stress situations. Practicing with the same sheath and carry configuration as your live blade ensures that your responses during training translate directly to real-world scenarios, minimizing hesitation and maximizing effectiveness when you need it most.
