The Orion: Skinner

OVERVIEW

The Orion Skinner is built around a pronounced blade curve that keeps more of the cutting edge in contact with the hide. This shape helps the user separate connective tissue smoothly and efficiently while maintaining control throughout the cut.

Two jimping zones along the spine provide added grip where control matters most, giving the user a more secure hold during detailed skinning work.

BLADE DIMENSIONS AND CUSTOMIZATION

The Orion Skinner model is crafted with a standard 4.25-inch blade and reaches a total of 8 inches. For those with specific legal requirements, the blade can be slightly modified to ensure compliance with applicable state or municipal regulations.

ERGONOMIC DESIGN AND GRIP OPTIONS

The Orion Skinner is designed with a straightforward ergonomic handle that supports versatile use and comfortable control.

Key grip features include:

  • Additional jimping near the tip to improve control during precise cuts.

  •  Jimping positioned on the spine just forward of the handle for a secure thumb placement.

  • An adjustable rear lanyard that can be wrapped securely around the wrist or wrapped securely around the hand when extra retention is needed.

 SHEATH OPTIONS AND CARRY METHODS

The Orion Skinner offers several sheath options to accommodate a variety of carry preferences and requirements. Users can select a static cord, which enables convenient and discreet carry, especially useful in situations where accessibility and retention are important. For those seeking compatibility with tactical gear, the MOLLE-option allows the sheath to be securely attached to backpacks, vests, or other MOLLE-equipped surfaces. Alternatively, a locking belt clip is available, providing a reliable and stable method for carrying the knife on a belt. Each option is designed to ensure the Orion Skinner remains secure and easily accessible during outdoor or survival activities.

MEASUREMENT STANDARDS

Blade length is measured from hilt to the tip. This ensures consistency and clarity in determining legal compliance for knife owners from state to state.
